Close competition heats up Winters Dubs #1

Killer B Dubs Series: Winter #1 champs

We had 10 teams show up for the Killer B Winter Dubs #1 on Saturday and all three divisions saw some tight competition on Old Glory blues.

In Advanced, the Soft Bangers had a comfortable 7-throw lead after one round, but the veterans on Jackwagon pulled it together and shot a fantastic 48 (-13) to make it an interesting finish. It there had been a few more holes, Kurt and John probably would have caught the young Bangers Andrew and Walton, but they just ran out of luck this time! The Bangers finish with an impressive 101 (-21).

Intermediate saw back-to-back aces by the A-Team during round 1. Brandon hit Snake Oil and minutes later his partner Steven hit the very next hole, Log Jam! Crazy!

Their 3-throw lead was not enough, however, as Lonnie and Dave from Twigs and Berries snuck up from the second card and won by one. They picked up an incredible 6 strokes in round 2 and ended with a 108 (-14).

Rec was our most competitive division as only 2 throws separated the four teams at the break. Fly 'Em High managed to hold off the rest and won with a 116 (-6). It was Dave and Neal's first tournament and they were pretty excited about their win and said they had a great time over all. We love to hear that!

John M, Dave W, and Matt C each won a CTP and Brandon and Steven split the ace pot.
