After coming close for the past several years, I finally won another tournament. And boy was it a big one -- the
Hall of Fame Classic PDGA A-tier at the IDGC in Appling, GA.
It was four rounds over three days in the driving rain and I played my patented steady, boring, conservative golf. Fortunately, everything finally came together at the right time -- driving, approaching, putting -- and I got some amazing tree love all weekend. I even threw through gaps that the laws of physics wouldn't normally allow. It also didn't hurt that I finally learned how to putt with confidence. Amazing how that works!

But in the end, it was probably the tournament-debut of my yellow socks that brought home the win.
Saturday I shot the highest rated round of my life and finally broke the 1000 mark with a 1019! Holy crap! I normally don't toot my own horn but I have to say I am pretty pumped about this win and dedicate it to my girl Aspen who no doubt was cheering me on from above. :)
Congrats to Friends of the Hive James Meek who was on the lead card with me and had an outstanding tournament and Sarah Cunningham for demolishing the Womens Pro field. She looked sharp accepting her trophy in her Killer B sweatshirt too!

And lastly, I have to give Mrs. Killer B Marcy some credit. We determined last night that it was her homecooking that help both Ricky Wysocki (Pro Open winner who stayed with us a few days leading up to the tournament) and me win. Obviously, I would have to agree!
Next up, the Tim Selinske US Masters Championships in two weeks. Let's see if I can keep this swarm buzzing.
