Emergency work day at Pendleton King this Saturday!

Today's storm caused some damage to Pendleton King Park. Please join members of the Augusta Disc Golf Association Saturday at 10 AM to help clear several downed trees and branches and get the course in shape for Sunday's tournament.

Just listen for the sound of chainsaws and head in that direction. Thank you ADGA!

Hail yeah!

A crazy storm whipped through downtown this afternoon. Wow! Thankfully it lasted only five minutes and there was no damage to the Hive.

Hail in February. Another first for me. Be safe, golfers!

Lake Olmstead Friday Night Lights

The Augusta Disc Golf Association is hosting Lake Olmstead Friday Night Lights on Friday evening at 6:00 PM. Head over to Lake O in Augusta for free food and drink and play a few holes under the lights!

You can also join the newly revived ADGA too!

Worlds invites out

The official invitations to the Pro/AM World Championships in Charlotte, NC have been posted. Did you get in?

If not, you may be able to sign up later when open registration begins for the rest of us. But don't get your hopes up this year. With 6800 golfers invited and only 1100 spots, your chances don't look too good!

• 2012 Worlds invites

If you can take a week off, I highly recommend playing or at least going to watch and experience disc golf 24/7. I played the '09 Worlds in Kansas City and the '10 Worlds in Ohio and had an awesome time.

Last year I did some blogging and photography at both the AM Worlds in Rochester, NY and Pro Worlds in Santa Cruz, CA and will definitely go up this year to play, watch, or maybe even vend at the FlyMart.

It's a long, tiring week but well worth it if you can make it happen! Do it!

I met the longest-throwing human on the planet, Christian Sandstrom, last year at Pro Worlds. He threw a disc 820 ft!
