After a great five year run, Marcy and I have decided to close Killer B Disc Golf and pursue other adventures.

Although we are proud to have played a part in the rebirth of disc golf in Augusta, we are even more proud to have introduced so many new players to the sport and to each other.

We sincerely appreciate those of you who have supported us over the years by shopping with us, playing in our events, and helping us spread the buzz. Thank you.

If you have any Buzz Bucks, we will do our best to accommodate you for a short time after we close, but we can't promise anything.

Questions and Answers

• Why are you closing? Although the store is doing just fine, it is just time for us to step away from disc golf and try something new.

• Are you having a sale? No.

• Does this mean that we will actually see John out playing locally again? Disc golf will always be a part of John's life but he will be taking a break from it for a while.

• Are your store fixtures and equipment for sale? Yes, some clothes racks, slat board, shelving units, and cash registers are for sale. Stop by or email us if you are interested.

• Are the gray Buckhorn storage bins for sale? No, not at this time.

Reduced hours this week

We will be open noon-6 this week (July 20-24) while John is competing at AM Worlds. Tuesday league is also cancelled, but the regulars will probably show up anyway. Buzz buzz buzz.

John is headed to Kalamazoo, MI to compete in his fifth PDGA Amateur World Championships next week.

It'll be tough to repeat his great performance from last year when he finished in second place in Advanced Masters, but you never know!

It's been fun giving lessons to 10-year old friend of the Hive, Ava V., as she prepares for her first Worlds.

So much talent in this tiny disc golfer! She was recently asked to join the Prodigy youth team!

Ava is one of five girls playing in Girls 10 and under. Good luck Ava! You'll do great!

And good luck to the other 8 golfers from the CSRA headed to Worlds!

The government is making me close early Wednesday

It's National Collegiates DG Championship Week! Welcome college players!

The Hippodrome courses will be closed to casual play starting Wednesday, April 15 through Saturday, April 18 as we host the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships.

The Killer B pro shop will be open all week with extended hours.

There will be no league on Tuesday or Thursday.
