Announcing our new $10 Tourney Series!

We are happy to announce the new Killer B $10 Tourney Series! Currently, the series is comprised of four tournaments, each costing $10. All events are for amateurs only and nine divisions are offered. Players who "cash" at each event will be invited to a special end-of-season tournament to determine the 2012 $10 Tourney Series Champion in each division.
Because we are trying to keep player costs low and focus on playing for the fun of the game, there will be no players packs or free lunches. We will award Buzz Bucks to at least 50% of each division and have several prizes at each event, so chances are you will go home with something and qualify for Finals! One dollar from each entry fee goes toward the final tournament and will be used to supply food, trophies, prizes, or added payout.

Registration for Event #1, Winter Edition will open this weekend. You can register online, at the store, or at Patriots Sunday Tag League. Facebook Friends of the Hive will receive exclusive first notice when registration opens.

Let's go!

Tiki golf, anyone?

We're building a tiki bar in front of the store. What do you think about that idea?

Actually, it's from the Caribbean restaurant next door. Anytime there is a breeze, the umbrellas from the outdoor seating go flying down the sidewalk. I'm surprised no one has been skewered yet. Thankfully, my basket usually stops them before they pick up too much steam and cause any damage.

The baskets catch all types of interesting things. Last week, someone on a bicycle tried to touch the chains while riding by and ended up snagging his handlebar. He wasn't going very fast but sounded embarrassed when he said, "I was just trying to touch them." Well you did, buddy.

A few months ago the same thing happened except this guy was going a little bit faster and made quite a racket. He didn't wipe out but looked like a fish trapped in a net.

I'd say that 60% of the people who walk by the basket jingle the chains. You can't resist it. Must. Touch. Chains!

IDGC Ice Bowl this Saturday

Got this note from TD Jason at the PDGA:
This year's IDGC Ice Bowl will support the Columbia County Cares Food Bank. Please come show your support on Saturday, January 28. We will have lunch provided and other fun side activities to help raise money for the charity.
Like Ice Bowls here in the past there will be a payout and the event is sanctioned so you can get your first chance at some good 2012 rated rounds.
Lunch will be provided, and as usual please bring a food donation or cash donation for Columbia County Cares Food Bank!! I believe we will be playing 2 rounds on the Steady Ed Headrick course, one from the short tees one from the longs.

Killer B on TV again!

We added 5 more seconds to our 15 minutes of fame this Saturday while at the Augusta Ice Bowl. Look for me hitting the putt in the opening scene and then later driving on hole 3 in the news story. I also conveniently stood behind a few others to get in the shot!
Once again FOX54 continues to do a great job covering disc golf in the area. We have been down here in Augusta for just over four months and there has already been three disc golf stories on FOX and two print articles in the local papers. And Killer B has been interviewed, mentioned, or videoed in all of the them! That's pretty awesome if you ask me. Thanks FOX54! I'll probably have to get an agent soon.
